Veritex Bank Championship at Texas Rangers Golf Club
Welcome future PGA TOUR stars back to the Lone Star State April 10-16, 2022 at Texas Rangers Golf Club in Arlington for the 2022 Veritex Bank Championship. This week, 156 of the world’s best golfers will return to Arlington to pursue their dream to win a PGA TOUR card. This is the path to the PGA TOUR. In addition to on-site hospitality, the Korn Ferry Tour will broadcast live coverage of the Veritex Bank Championship. Rangers take on Los Angeles Angels at Globe Life Field
The hometown Rangers are looking to defend their home of Globe Life Field with a weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels. Friday, April 15, 2022 will mark exactly 50 years from the date the Rangers played their first Major League Baseball game. The adversary of April 15, 1972: the California Angels in Anaheim, California. Although the name has changed to Los Angeles Angles, the two American League West rivals will meet this time in Arlington at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022, 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2022 and April 1 : 35 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, 2022. Arlington Comic Festival at the Bob Duncan Center
The Arlington Comic Fest presented by The Otaku Box, returns to the Bob Duncan Center on April 15-16, 2022. Arlington Comic Fest will once again bring fans of comic books, sci-fi, anime and fantasy together for an exciting event. Buy from artists, authors and general sellers. Arlington Bass Classic at Lake Arlington
Reel in the big one at the Arlington Bass Classic at 6:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Lake Arlington. Reminder: A boat license valid for 2022 is required and can be purchased at the Maison du lac Richard Simpson or online. The initial payment of $20 is used to reserve your place. The balance of $80 will be due on site on Saturday, April 16, 2022, cash only. The mandatory pre-tournament meeting is at 6:45 a.m., Richard Simpson Lake House. Tournament starts at 7:00 a.m.

- 6:00 a.m. – 6:40 a.m.: Registration and check-in at Richard Simpson Park
- 6:45 a.m.: Pre-tournament meeting at Lake House
- 6:55 a.m.: National anthem
- 7:00 a.m.: Start of the tournament

Chess Club Tournament at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library
The Arlington Public Library Chess Club is delighted to offer a Chess Club Tournament. Students ages 7-16 are invited to participate in this four-round Swiss-style non-elimination tournament. No fee required, but players must register for the tournament at the information table on the 3rd floor between 9:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on the day of the event. The first round starts at 9:30 a.m. and the other rounds follow at the end of the matches. Students have the chance to play four games. Trophies will be awarded to the best winners. Trophies provided by Arlington Chess Club. Players will have to follow these rules: Silent Play, Silent Observation or Visit the library when not play, and One Touch. “B’egg” Easter Day at The Beacon

Spence Jr. vs. Ugas at AT&T Stadium
Undefeated World Boxing Council (WBC) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) world welterweight champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. and WBA world welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas will square off in a showdown Welterweight Championship Unification on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, headlining a Premier Boxing Champions event. Spence-Ugas pits two of the sport’s top welterweight champions against each other in a high-stakes unification match. Both men are coming off impressive victories over elite welterweight in the division’s top class. Spence has beaten former champions Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter in his last two bouts, while Ugas picked up an upset win over future Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao. Jackals return to Choctaw Stadium

Kindness Project kicks off with Arlington Public Library
Arlington Public Library invites you to take care of yourself and your community by joining us in a month-long celebration of kindness with The Kindness Project. Get your kindness kit which includes a copy of Channel Kindness: Stories of Kindness and Community by The Born This Way Foundation Reporters and Lady Gaga, a compilation of projects started by inspired people to make a difference in their community. Supplies are limited. Share your thoughts or plan an action at one of our community-wide coffees and chats in April. Start small and get active by completing the Kindness Bingo Card. Take advantage of our yoga, tai chi, recycled art and sustainable landscaping programs designed to explore kindness in its various forms, such as caring for oneself, the environment and the community.
