With a debut album on the horizon, the Southern California-based artist Mini trees gives fans a final look at the upcoming release with the single “Moments in Between”. Bright, airy, and with a hint of nostalgia, Mini Trees takes feelings of uncertainty and turns them around to reflect on moments of peace before taking a step forward.

“I wrote “Moments in between” from a place of uncertainty and terror when the world started to shut down last March, but the song itself takes place in this dreamy state where I reflect on peaceful memories of my past and gaze towards the ‘future with nostalgia,’ says Mini Trees. “Writing the song reminded me that I had been through tough times before and succeeded, so why not again this time? “

Mini Trees’ debut album, Always moving, releases September 17th and features previously released singles “Cracks in the Pavement, ”“ Spring ”and“ Continue. ”Sweet and introspective, her debut collection is filled with relatable indie-pop songs that focus on the anxiety that can arise from the uncertainty of life. Trees searches for some sort of conclusion to her growing pains, she eventually comes to terms with realizing that some things in life don’t have definitive answers.

“Over the course of the album, I vacillate between having questions and wanting answers, but the resolution is to accept not to know,” she notes. “I think I find some acceptance along the way, but the album purposefully ends with no real resolution.”

In addition to releasing their debut LP, Mini Trees also extended their US tour which includes a stop in Los Angeles, with an act of support. AO Gerber, September 30 at the Moroccan show.

Mini Trees, Lexi Vega‘s solo project is a musical project that draws a lot of inspiration and sparks from Vega’s own life. Dealing with difficult and confusing experiences, of not fitting in as a Cuban-Japanese American in the predominantly white suburb of her childhood to the death of her father, who committed suicide when Vega was only 5 years, Vega’s Mini Trees project gives her the space to deal with past trauma and grow. At first drummer in various groups before moving on to writing and recording his own music, the path taken by Mini Trees is one of quiet conviction and self-exploration.
